On fire

If you haven't heard, Texas is on fire. Literally. Wildfires are blazing and consuming hundreds of thousands of acres. It's scary. They began so close to where I went to college last year. That's scary. They've moved across Texas to right outside where I currently live: in Houston. That's terrifying. So many people have lost their homes, their belongings and a few, even their lives. As of right now, I'm safe. I'm grateful.

I flew to Dallas this past weekend and on the plane ride back, I saw smoke. It took me a second, but I soon realized that I was flying over rural Austin. It was on fire. While I didn't particularly care for Austin, it made me so, so sad. The state I have lived in for all of my life and loved oh so much is on fire. Please, please be in prayer about Texas and the people of this great state.
