Those of you that saw my “Name that Car” post are looking at this title like, “What’s going on??” The moment I laid eyes on my new Prius, I just knew it was not a girl. It just looked like a boy to me. After a few minutes of searching a baby names website, I came up with Paddington the Prius. I was not into Paddington Bear growing up, though that sweet bear did come to mind a little later in the day. To me, Paddington is a sophisticated name and for a car with as much technology as this sweet thing has, it totally fits.
I had tears in my eyes as I left my beloved Tucker at the dealership, but am doing much better now. It’s always hard to leave something behind, I guess.
This is Paddington in the parking lot of Pappasito’s in Houston yesterday evening shortly before I drove back to college.
Though I have not taken a picture of the inside of my actual car, it looks identical to this.
That top computer screen shows me whether or not Paddington is running off of battery power or gasoline. It also shows my MPG as I drive and has a diagram of how power is flowing. My car also has hands-free Bluetooth and XM Satellite Radio. Driving as many places as I do, I am grateful for the satellite radio because now I don’t have to scroll through random FM stations to find something to listen to. I am also notorious for talking on the phone and driving at the same time with a headset, so with Bluetooth I no longer have to worry about that darn headset. Because I am always cold, my mom upgraded me to leather seats with seat heaters. She thinks those will be the first thing we’ll have to repair because they’ll get so much use! I use seat heaters in both summer and winter. My lack of body heat is a problem in all seasons. ha
This week will be really chaotic for me with two papers due and two quizzes. I keep repeating to myself, “I’m too blessed to be stressed!” Let’s just hope this gets me through the week!
Happy Monday :)
