While I got several things for Valentine’s Day this year, this present touched my heart the most. Luc and Landry were at their dad’s this past weekend and my best assumption is that he let them pick out Valentine’s Day cards for everyone at the store. When she handed me the card out of her backpack last night, I was already touched she thought enough of me to get me a card. She got one for her mom, my Uncle Mark (her stepdad) and me. I didn’t know I ranked that high with her! I told her I was going to wait until today (Valentine’s Day) to open it and she said that was fine with her.
When I got back from my classes today, my roommate and I both decided to open our cards we’d accumulated. I opened Landry’s first and almost lost it.
The book reads:
Front: Be Mine, Valentine! To: Miss Meredith From: Landry
Page 1: Mice love cheese
Page 2: Cookies love milk
Page 3: Apples love trees
Page 4: Bees love honey
Page 5: A sock loves a shoe
Page 6: But not as much as I LOVE YOU!
The card says:
My life just wouldn’t be the same without you in it….You’re a part of so many of my happiest memories. I hope you know how special you will always be to me. Happy Valentine’s Day! I love you Landry
I contained my tears because I didn’t want to ruin my makeup, but that just melted my heart. I love that kid.
Valentine’s Day has never been a holiday that reminds me I have a boyfriend and I have my mom to thank for that. She’s made it a holiday to remind me how much she loves me and of course, I’ve reciprocated. Today, I’m making it a holiday to remind those in my life how much I love them. Yes my dear blog friends, this means you too! Though I’ve never met any of you face to face, you do mean the world to me. My heart skips a beat every time I get an e-mail saying one of you have left me a comment. I’m always so interested to see what you have to say, whether it be a simple line of encouragement or a paragraph with some good advice….I love them all! Thank you for being a part of my life for the last (almost) 4 years. You rock my world <3
